The World Players Summit 2026 — co-hosted with the Major League Soccer Players Association (MLSPA) and the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) — will bring together player association leaders and experts from across sports and regions in Washington, DC from June 8–11 to exchange strategies, strengthen representation, and address the most pressing challenges facing players globally.
The program has been designed to combine high-level plenary sessions with a series of parallel tracks, allowing participants to engage in both collective discussions and more focused conversations tailored to their area of work. This structure reflects the Summit’s core objective: to strengthen coordination across the global players movement while also supporting practical, context-specific approaches.
Across the Summit, plenary sessions will bring all participants together to explore the major forces shaping sport today — including governance, economic structures, and the role of collective bargaining in securing fairer conditions for players. These shared conversations provide a common framework for understanding how global sport operates and where opportunities for change lie.
Alongside these sessions, participants will join one of several parallel tracks, each designed to offer deeper engagement in key areas:
- Leadership & Governance, focusing on how player associations can strengthen their influence within decision-making structures and align strategies across regions and sports
- Legal & Collective Bargaining, examining the legal frameworks, negotiation strategies and regulatory environments shaping players’ rights
- Health & Safety, addressing the evolving challenges affecting athlete wellbeing, from workload and injury prevention to long-term health outcomes
- Player Relations & Organising, exploring how player associations engage with their members, build trust, amplify their voices and mobilize collective action
- Player Development, focusing on education, wellbeing and support systems that accompany players throughout and beyond their careers
Together, these tracks create a program that is both strategic and practical — enabling participants to exchange experiences, learn from different contexts, and develop approaches that can be applied across the global sport landscape.
The World Players Summit is a closed event for member associations of World Players.
